  Mission Statement: The Vital Ground Foundation, a nonprofit conservation organization founded in 1990, is dedicated to conserving habitat for grizzlies and all of the other plants and animals that share the land with the Great Bear. We protect grizzly habitat through conservation easement or outright purchase, for where the grizzly can walk the earth is healthy and whole. Our goal is the preservation of America's wild heritage.  http://www.grizzlybear.org/ The Craighead Environmental Research Institute is a small group of concerned scientists and educators working with wildlife species throughout the world. We specialize in conservation biology; the science of maintaining healthy wildlife populations in intact, balanced, ecosystems. Currently we are not able to employ any additional people, and we are not a granting institution. About 90 percent of our budget is used for program expenses. We rely on the support of foundations and concerned individuals.  Innovative action for the environment.  Founded in 1999 by Julia Butterfly Hill, the Circle of Life Foundation activates people through education, inspiration and connection to live in a way that honors the diversity and interdependence of all life.  Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is credited with leading the fight to protect New York City's water supply, but his reputation as a resolute defender of the environment stems from a litany of successful legal actions. The list includes winning numerous settlements for Riverkeeper, prosecuting governments and companies for polluting the Hudson River and Long Island Sound, arguing cases to expand citizen access to the shoreline, and suing treatment plants to force compliance with the Clean Water Act.
